What Cable Do I Have?
Your cable size determines which showers you can choose. This is the most important thing to check before selecting a shower.
The most common cable size in UK homes. Suits the majority of standard electric showers.
Unlocks more powerful showers with noticeably stronger water flow and faster heating.
You cannot fit a shower above your cable limit. A 9.5kW shower will not work safely on a 6mm cable as specified in IET wiring regulations. Not sure what cable you have? Check your fuse box label or we will check for free when we quote.

Want a 9.5kW or 10.5kW shower? We install a new 10mm cable from your fuse box. This unlocks the most powerful showers with much stronger water flow.
My Shower Feels Weak

Electric Shower Not Working?
Try these checks before calling us. We can often save you a call-out.
Check your fuse box. The shower circuit may have tripped. Also check that the pull cord or isolation switch is in the on position.
The heating element has likely failed. This is the most common fault and it usually means it is time for a new shower unit rather than a repair.
Could be limescale in the showerhead — try cleaning with white vinegar overnight. If it has always been weak, consider upgrading to a higher kW shower.
Turn off the isolator switch immediately. Water near live electrical components is extremely dangerous. Do not attempt to touch or inspect the unit.

Usually 1 to 2 hours. We remove the old shower, fit the new one, test it fully and clean up. You can use your new shower immediately after we leave. For new installations where a new circuit is also required, allow 3 to 5 hours.
POWERCan I get a more powerful shower?
Yes. If you have a 6mm cable you can go up to 8.5kW with no extra work needed. For anything more powerful — 9.5kW or 10.5kW — we install a new 10mm cable from your fuse box at an additional cost of around £350 to £450. This unlocks noticeably stronger water flow and faster heating.
